FREE SHOP Information Sessions, Chester and Lancaster Counties

Small businesses in Chester and Lancaster counties have a special opportunity on January 7, 2015 to hear from an expert on health insurance options available to them and their employees through the federal health insurance marketplace.

The sessions are scheduled for:

12:00 p.m. – Native American Studies Center

5:30 p.m. – Chester Downtown Development Association

Catherine Bruce, Palmetto Project Certified Navigator for Chester, York and Lancaster counties, will host an informational session with featured speaker Brad Zaba, of the South Carolina Small Business Chamber or Commerce. Zaba is the lead coordinator for the SHOP program with SCSBCC.

The SHOP Marketplace was created under the Affordable Care Act to offer employers a choice of health insurance plans and dental plans along with tools for making informed choices.

Qualified small employers have access to the enhanced Small Business Health Care Tax Credit, worth up to 50% of a for-profit employer’s premium contributions, and up to 35% of a tax exempt employer’s premium contribution (taken against payroll taxes.)

The informational session is free, but pre-registration is required.

Please register by emailing the registrant name, business title and contact information to cbruce@palmettoproject.org by Monday, January 5, 2015.
