Voting in Saturday’s SC primary? 5 of 7 candidates are seriously against offshore drilling.

Five of the seven Democratic presidential candidates on Saturday’s SC ballot signed onto the SC Small Business Chamber of Commerce’s Day One Action Plan.

The Action Plan commits the candidates to use an executive order on their first day in office to ban all new oil drilling leases on public land and waters, including in the Atlantic.

Here are those candidates in alphabetical order:

Joe Biden
Pete Buttigieg
Amy Klobuchar
Bernie Sanders
Elizabeth Warren

Unfortunately, two presidential candidates on the ballot failed to make the commitment even after our very considerable efforts with their campaigns.

Those candidates not willing to commit to the Day One executive action to block new offshore drilling are:

Tulsi Gabbard
Tom Steyer

The five candidates who made the Day One commitment understand that there is a difference between talk and action to protect us from the oil pollution that comes with offshore drilling.

When we launched this campaign last April, some probably doubted that national campaigns would pay attention to us and that we would be successful.

But pay attention they did and successful we were.

If you are voting in the SC Democratic primary, the candidates standing with you in serious opposition to offshore oil drilling in the Atlantic are:

Biden…Buttigieg…Klobuchar…Sanders…Warren
