Two bills will be voted on this Tuesday (March 25th) at 3PM in a SC Senate Judiciary Committee meeting.
These utility-friendly bills would:
-make electric rate hike decisions more big-business friendly at the expense of all other consumers.
-allow utilities to raise electricity rates every year with virtually no cap so the utilities can make more money.
-allow utilities to make all consumers pay for new power plants needed by BIG TECH data center.
We must stop these bills or make them more consumer-friendly.
Contact the below key Senators ASAP!
Tell them to PROTECT consumers, not the utilities and big business.
Senator:
-Vote NO on H.3309 and S.446 unless amendments to protect consumers are passed.
-Support amendment to prohibit utilities and Department of Commerce from offering discounted, even below cost, electric rates to big businesses. (H.3309)
-Support amendment to cap annual electric rate hikes proposed by utilities to no more than 2%.
-Support making BIG TECH data centers build their own power generation.
