ACTION ALERT!!!
Contact State Senators today to stop your electric rates going up
This Tuesday the SC Senate starts debating a bill (H.3309) intended to promote new energy generation to meet the future needs of the state.
But lurking inside the legislation is a provision that guarantees higher rates for residential and small business customers.
The utilities will be allowed to offer electricity discounts to attract big business and industrial prospects to the state. These discounts can even be rates that are 25% below the cost of producing and delivering the electricity.
Someone must pay for these outrageous electricity discounts. That someone is us, residential and small business ratepayers.
There is more. The legislation would allow building expensive new gas plants to primarily serve new Google and Microsoft data centers. The cost of this new energy generation will be passed on to all consumers.
Contact your Senator or all Senators today. Tell them:
–Protect residential and small business customers, not the profits of utilities and big businesses. No discounts for big businesses and industrial customers.
–Don’t raise my rates to pay for the electricity for Google, Microsoft and BIG Tech company data centers to boost their profits.

Thank you.
