The S.C. Small Business Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a Climate and Energy Business Roundtable from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Clarion Hotel Downtown in Columbia.
There is no charge to attend.
“The Climate and Energy Business Roundtable will discuss the physical and economic consequences climate change may have on South Carolina, as well as how a proposed market-based system to reduce carbon emissions will impact the business community and the prospects for economic development,” said Frank Knapp Jr., president and CEO of the chamber.
The roundtable will include presentations by Greg Carbone, professor in the geography department at the University of South Carolina; Harry Miley, principal of Miley & Associates Inc. and visiting professor of economics at S.C. State University; and Jackie Prince Roberts, director of sustainable technologies for the Environmental Defense Fund.
