Do your employees have health insurance?

Employers have a vested interest in their employees having health insurance either through a business group plan or personal coverage.   Employees with health insurance are healthier, more productive, miss less work and help keep premiums for everybody as low as possible.

So do you know if your employees have health insurance?  If they don’t, consider offering a group health plan through the Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP).  Call us at 803-252-5733 to find out more including tax credits for your business.

Otherwise, give your uninsured employees some information.

Quality health coverage may be more affordable than they think.

8 out of 10 people who enrolled in a health plan at HealthCare.gov qualified for financial help to make their monthly payments more affordable. In fact, most people can find monthly premiums for $75 dollars or less per month and possibly as low as $20 per month.

Having health insurance is the law. If your employees choose to go without health insurance coverage in 2016, they may have to pay a penalty of up to $695 when they file their 2016 taxes.

So employers, do yourself a favor and help make sure your employees have health insurance.
