Columbia, SC—The South Carolina Small Business Chamber of Commerce (SCSBCC) announced today the addition of the Gullah Geechee Chamber of Commerce (GGCC) as an association member with Board of Directors representation.  The president and CEO of the GGCC, Marilyn Hemingway, will represent her chamber on the SCSBCC Board.

The Gullah Geechee Chamber of Commerce works to raise awareness of opportunity, profitability and sustainability of African American businesses and entities that support the Gullah community that stretches from North Carolina to Florida.

“We are very pleased to be part of the SCSBCC,” said Hemingway. “It will benefit our advocacy for the cooperative economy opportunity, environmental justice and green, renewable energy as a conduit for small business growth.”

“The Gullah Geechee Chamber as a member will be an asset to our statewide chamber”, said Frank Knapp Jr., president and CEO of the SCSBCC, which also includes the SC Hispanic Chamber of Commerce as a member.
