Thanks to all who contacted Sen. Graham about today’s vote in the Senate to bribe South Carolina and other Atlantic Coast states to get their support for offshore drilling.
While Senator Graham did vote to move S.3110 forward, the bill failed to get the 60 votes it needed to stay alive. Only 51 Senators voted for the bribery attempt by the oil companies and their big business friends like the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
Now it is time for President Obama to use his statutory authority to permanently ban Atlantic Coast seismic testing and offshore drilling to protect our coastal tourism, commercial fishing and recreation economy, forever.
