Small business owners are invited to meetings across South Carolina to learn how the federal health care law could affect them.

The South Carolina Small Business Chamber of Commerce and the advocacy group Small Business Majority are sponsoring the meetings scheduled to start Monday on Johns Island. Other meetings are set for Tuesday in Charleston, Sept. 6 in Columbia, Sept. 13 in West Columbia and Sept. 27 in Greenville.

Items slated for discussion include small business tax credits, wellness grants and the state’s work in setting up a health insurance exchange. A question-and-answer period will follow.

Panelists include small business chamber CEO Frank Knapp.

Business owners can also get details of a new health plan for small businesses. The chamber has partnered with Carolina Care Plan to offer the plan.
