State health care leadership joins business chamber board

Dr. Vicki Young and Kenya Mingo of the SC Primary Health Care Association (SCPHCA) have joined the Board of Directors of the South Carolina Small Business Chamber of Commerce, a statewide advocacy organization with a 23-year record of successful advocacy at the state and federal levels.

Young is the Chief Operating Officer of the SCPHCA responsible for overseeing the areas of clinical quality improvement, information technology, public affairs, advocacy and outreach and enrollment.  She has a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Pharmacy Administration from the University of South Carolina and more than 15 years of knowledge and practice in the areas of health care access, health disparities, and quality improvement programs.

Mingo is the Director of Corporate Compliance and Communications with SCPHCA.  She has a Master of Science degree in Organization and Management and more than 17 years of diversified, senior-level non-profit experience in the areas of human resources, marketing, media and public relations, event planning, fundraising, contract negotiation/management, program management, and grant writing.
